As a kid I rode BMX bikes out in the middle of nowhere in Western New York. I scrounged plywood and whatever else I could get my hands on to build jumps in my yard. In college I started riding mountain bikes and shortly thereafter began to delve into the world of trail building. Combining art, science, to a desire to push my limits on the bike became almost as fun as riding the bike itself. Whether working on a beginner-friendly loop or an experts-only rock garden, the opportunity to create something new and the excitement it generates for other people has been a huge motivation for me the past few years. To me the only thing better than pushing my limits as a rider is doing so on a trail that pushed my limits as a builder and sharing the experience with others.
